Your vehicle came complete with a factory thermostat. Sounds simple, right? Well, it can be. After all, the thermostat has one main purpose. It reacts to temperature changes in the engine coolant. When the coolant is at the right temperature, the thermostat stays closed and keeps the coolant in the engine. If the coolant gets too hot, the thermostat opens and allows the coolant to return to the radiator so it can cool down again before returning to the engine. Determining that proper temperature range is the key to the equation, and the thermostat plays a key role in that. When everything works right, you don't even think about what your thermostat is doing.

Thermostats are extremely durable, and rarely have problems. That's not to say that they don't go bad, though. If your "Check Engine" light comes on, that could be one sign of a failing thermostat. When a thermostat valve stops working right, it may not be able to open to let the coolant flow back to the radiator. That can lead to your engine overheating. Your hoses and gaskets can also lead to trouble. To make sure that you know what the problem is, have a professional inspect your car or SUV. If your thermostat is the source of the trouble, switch it out for a new one. Genuine Mopar® thermostats are the only ones guaranteed to work with your model, ensuring a proper fit and durable performance. Our online parts department has plenty in stock and available for direct shipping.
